Walks & Talks

Autumn is now with us and the incidence of outside walks decreases, but the season of indoor presentations from now until late spring is upon us.

Following a successful appearence and contribution to the Paul Hudson Weather Show on Radio York 31st August 2014, I will be returning to this programme late October/early November, on a date to be arranged, to give a further updated prediction of the coming winter weather.

If anyone wishes to contact me with a view to giving a talk on the subject, use the contact page and I will respond. A Power-Point Presentation takes about an hour and a quarter and I take questions afterwards. The fee will include travelling and is not exorbitant either.

Concerning walks, I can take walks lasting an hour to just over two hours around the fields in the valley of the river Eden, explaining as the walk progresses, the different trees, plants, signs, berries, hips and haws, plus any fruit – in season; and what nature is telling us at least six months ahead.

Each walk is taken at a leisurely pace and depending on time, is between 3 and 6 miles; there may (due to thefts from farmers of stock and equipment) be some gates or styles to climb, but nothing dangerous or impossible. If a 75 year old man can climb a gate, then anyone younger has no problem at all.

If there is an interest just ask. Everything is possible.
